Alocasia ‘Dragon Scale’ looks almost unreal—thick, textured leaves with deep veining that resembles scaled armor. The contrast between the pale silver-green surface and dark veins gives it a sculptural, high-detail appearance that stands out even among other Alocasias.

Origin

A cultivated form of Alocasia baginda, native to Borneo. In its natural habitat, it grows in warm, humid rainforest environments with filtered light and consistent moisture.

Light

Bright, indirect light is ideal. Strong lighting supports healthy growth and pronounced texture.

Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the foliage.

Water

Keep the soil consistently lightly moist. Allow the top inch of soil to dry slightly between waterings, but avoid letting the soil dry out completely.

Good drainage is essential, as Alocasias are sensitive to excess moisture around the roots.
