Aglaonema is one of the easiest foliage plants to keep looking good. Strong color, adaptable care, and steady growth make it a reliable choice for both beginners and collectors. From silver and green to bright pink and red varieties, it adds color without demanding constant attention.

Origin

Native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and New Guinea, where it grows along shaded forest floors in warm, humid environments.

Light

Prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Many green varieties tolerate lower light well, while colorful varieties typically maintain stronger coloration in brighter conditions.

Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.

Water

Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly, then allow excess moisture to drain away.

Aglaonema is more forgiving of occasional underwatering than overwatering.

Humidity

Average household humidity is generally sufficient, though it appreciates moderate humidity when possible.

Temperature

Thrives between 65–85°F. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.
